During the time I was taking a hiatus from blogging, Caleb was diagnosed with Apraxia of Speech. It is a disorder where basically your brain tells your mouth what to say, but your muscles don't know how to move to form the words. It is most common after strokes, for adults, but some children are born with it. It requires lots of speech therapy and work for the individual to teach the muscles how to move to form even the simplest of sounds.
I have tried to keep updating regarding Caleb's progress through Instagram in drips and drabs, but I feel like a blog will give me more freedom and room to explain things more thoroughly.
That, in a nutshell is why I'm back, but, truth be told, also, we are looking to move this year... and chronicling that crazy journey (and where we end up) is one that I surely do not want to miss.
