Baby To-Do List - 1 Week Left

So yeah. I didn't go into labor or anything. I actually forgot it was Thursday and it dawned on me a few minutes ago that I didn't publish this... Gotta love this pregnancy brain thing I got going...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I really and truly didn't think I would get to this post. I was -positive- that the baby would have made an appearance by now, but here we are... 2 days away from my due date... Still plugging away at this list. I have been having false labor pains off and on for the past week or so, so hopefully that means that things will get going soon...

Need to (in no particular order):
  • Decide on co-sleeper or bassinet
  • Find and buy a bassinet
  • Pick a name... First and middle
  • Go through, organize and wash new born clothes
  • Go through, organize and wash 0-3 month clothes
  • Buy Diapers
  • Buy double stroller
  • Buy a wipe warmer
  • Pack hospital bag
  • Install infant car seat (probably won't be done until right after the baby is born)
  • Buy small toys/gifts for Elijah to receive when the baby gets presents
  • Wrap the small toys for Elijah (put them in gift bags is more like it)
  • Buy the big present for Elijah
  • Install TV in Elijah's room
  • Find baby tub
  • Buy gift for Elijah from the baby
  • Wrap present from baby
  • Buy bassinet sheets
  • Buy baby tub
Progress this week:

  • We bought the newborn diapers, yay!
  • My FIL (and potentially MIL) are coming up on Saturday to mount Elijah's TV, in his room.
  • I am bound and determined the presents will get wrapped before I go to the hospital... even if I have to wrap them while in labor
  • Elijah's big present will be bought after the baby has made his arrival. Right now he hasn't showed interest in anything, for sure, except for his Ipod, but that's a whole other post, completely.
Well... If I'm still around, without a newborn in tow, I will be updating again next week... But that should be it. I believe July 29th is the last day they will let me go without inducing me, so until next week...

Baby To-Do List - 2 Weeks Left

This week has been very interesting. I have cleaned and sorted and straightened, but not because I actually wanted to do those things (nesting), I was forced into doing them. Meanwhile my feet are swelling like nobody's business and my back is killing me. BUT, I guess you didn't visit here to "hear" me complain. In other news, the baby is doing well.

I went for a growth sonogram at 36 weeks and they said at that time the baby was approx 6lbs 4oz, so he's probably going to be about the size Elijah was when he was born. I dunno, I just feel like I'm done. I'm ready for this kid to be born, whether I don't get any sleep or not. This is what the list has turned into. I have come to the conclusion that not everything is going to get done and I'm perfectly ok with that, at this point. It will all get done eventually...

Need to (in no particular order):
  • Decide on co-sleeper or bassinet
  • Find and buy a bassinet
  • Pick a name... First and middle
  • Go through, organize and wash new born clothes
  • Go through, organize and wash 0-3 month clothes
  • Buy Diapers
  • Buy double stroller
  • Buy a wipe warmer
  • Pack hospital bag
  • Install infant car seat (probably won't be done until right after the baby is born)
  • Buy small toys/gifts for Elijah to receive when the baby gets presents
  • Wrap the small toys for Elijah (put them in gift bags is more like it)
  • Buy the big present for Elijah
  • Install TV in Elijah's room
  • Find baby tub
  • Buy gift for Elijah from the baby
  • Wrap present from baby
  • Buy bassinet sheets
  • Buy baby tub
Progress this week:
  • Bought a baby tub. After we opened the box to make sure we liked it for sure, Elijah went over, got one of his baby dolls and put it in the sling part. Hopefully this is a good indication of things to come.
  • Joe put away the baby clothes... this wasn't on the list, but was a general thing that needed to be done.
  • We priced mounts for Elijah's TV. I'm not quite sure this is going to get done before the baby is born though, cause we are so close.

We are buying diapers for sure tomorrow and I'm pretty sure unless I get to it soon, the present from the baby is going to get wrapped at the hospital (haha). We are still undecided of what to get Elijah for his big present. I'm hoping he'll give us some hints.

So, with the time winding down, I hope to update next week, either with baby news/pictures or a list with everything crossed off (ha ha, again). Until next week...

Baby To-Do List - 3 Weeks Left

I hope everyone had a good 4th. Ours was relaxing... We went grocery shopping and grilled out with my family, then lit off fireworks in the backyard. We would have gone to see fireworks, but I was afraid I was going to go into labor (not for any particular reason, except that we wouldn't be able to leave quickly if it did happen). That would have been just my luck, so we played it safe.

I don't exactly know what this means, but I was apparently "nesting" on Saturday, which quickly was over by Sunday and non-existent on Monday and Tuesday. It was this burst of energy where all the clutter and junk got to be too much, so I just started cleaning. I didn't even feel tired afterward.... It was weird, but anyway, enough about me, let's get onto the list...

Need to (in no particular order):
  • Decide on co-sleeper or bassinet
  • Find and buy a bassinet
  • Pick a name... First and middle
  • Go through, organize and wash new born clothes
  • Go through, organize and wash 0-3 month clothes
  • Buy Diapers
  • Buy double stroller
  • Buy a wipe warmer
  • Pack hospital bag
  • Install infant car seat (probably won't be done until right after the baby is born)
  • Buy small toys/gifts for Elijah to receive when the baby gets presents
  • Wrap the small toys for Elijah (put them in gift bags is more like it)
  • Buy the big present for Elijah
  • Install TV in Elijah's room
  • Find baby tub
  • Buy gift for Elijah from the baby
  • Wrap present from baby
  • Buy bassinet sheets
  • Buy baby tub
Progress this week:
  • I packed the rest of my hospital bag. Truly amazing and it only took me approximately 4 weeks to do it, hahaha.
  • Tried finding the baby tub, but alas it was nowhere to be found. So we are using the gift cards that Joe's co-workers got us and are going to buy a new one.
  • Joe's sisters are going to get us the bassinet sheets. :-)
Unless the baby decides to make an appearance this week, I will catch you all next week...
